I don't understand why we can't post production diaries for music videos.

I work just as hard on pre-production for music videos as people do for short films.
I have had a lot of people wanting to know a lot more about what we do and I really would love to be able to share the experience on DVXuser

Our work isn't mediocre and the process is fairly interesting so why can't we post in the USERfilms? Just wondering.

Dillon;

First and foremost: Thanks for reading the guidelines! :thumbsup:

That post about "not for music videos" was a little vague and out of date; it simply ment that "User Films" isn't an area where you can just post "Here's a music video I made <youtube link>". Ie: It's not a video gallery.

It is for production diaries, and all the good behind the scenes making-of information. Idea being that it's an educational area where others can come and see how you made your film.

The genre of the films isn't a problem, as long as there is a proper process to document.

So sharing the production journey of a music video is very much Ok.

Oh, thank you for the quick response! It is my intention to do exactly that. If you get a chance will you delete this thread? I have gotten what i needed. Thanks again. :)

This is an informative thread, I'll leave it here for a while as it notes a (minor) rules change/clarification.

We'll probably kill it eventually if/when we update the complete rules of the forum.

Unfortunately too few people actually read this guideline. Most of the stuff I see posted here are basically that, with no production history or tech info listed whatsoever.
