I can't figure out how to get my kawa adapter off my nikkor lens!

There's a little tab on the adapter that you can kind of lift up but this thing feels impossible to get off.. Is it really suppose to be this hard?
 
I had the same problem. That little tab sucks, and the edges of the adaptor are sharp. What I have is one of those round rubber jar openers, sold to help grandma's open tight jar lids. I use that to grip the edges and twist while I lift up that little tab. It helps.
