OTHER: I am constantly under intrusion attack here on this website!

For the past couple of days I have come under constant intrusion attack when visiting the dvxuser.com website. I have the latest release of Norton Security Suite version 20.2.0.19 with its latest updates, and it is warning me that I am being probed by an intrusion exploit from an ad site called landmineads.com. I do not like being probed like this.

Why are you allowing this infected ad company to attack people who visit your website? You need to remove these ads from your website immediately, as they are putting us at risk for infection! Norton gives this attack their highest risk warning.

Here is a screen shot of my security alert from Norton when I come here. I am constantly receiving this alert while I am here, so I am going to have to leave.

Hi Lance

If it helps any, I'm getting nothing from here but I do have sites blocked by MalwareBytes quite often....I'm using Internet Explorer 8 and I see you are on Google Chrome?? Would that make any difference???

I think that's just the DVXuser cookie. "Matches the signature of a known attack" could just mean that someone reported it as an attack when it's not.

Using the internet, but not understanding how it works is a hazard only you alone can decide on. If you have your own website and use Google analytics even if you don't understand the technical side you'll soon find that it collects information from your computer on the operating system and browser types etc. Your computer provides this info on request, without you being aware. Your protection software is simply letting you know the info was asked for. In the UK now there is actually a law that says that websites need to get your permission to do this. It's proven quite negative, because a message popping up asking to be allowed to put files on your computer always gets a NO response from the wary - even when these cookies are beneficial. So many web sites - including very prominent ones now tell you they are doing it, BUT give you the option to say no.

Many web sites that generate income from adverts use clever cookies to target you with more appropriate ads - certainly on many websites I visit, the ads feature things I'm actually interested in. I don't need to buy = but I'd rather get interesting ads than ones for things I have no interest in at all.

Frankly - on the web you need to allow these things. Norton does it's job and will prevent harmful stuff from the criminals, but it's scaring you with day to day stuff. Very often people panic when they get messages and report innocent sites. Somebody did this to one of my sites and then others started to get warnings, and they reported it and it snowballed. It took weeks to make it go away - just because of worriers. It's understandable, but the internet is complicated and getting more so every day. Cookies are not bad - you use them all the time. When you go to this site, do you have to type in your user name or does it recognise you? cookies. In this case you can Google the landminead.com origin, and do a whois, and use google maps to have a look at the address Jason is registered at. Not something that reveals anything unpleasant. If you use the internet, you need to get up to speed on how it works. There are always people out to cause trouble - but I've never found DVXuser to be one of them!

It was an issue with the banners, which I had resolved last night after being made aware of it, then it happened again while i was sleeping last night. I've turned off the banners for now until I can get a permanent solution
