I am a Coffey Sound fanboy!

I just wanted to say that I LOVE the staff at Coffey Sound!

I stopped by to check out some affordable gear and ended up getting a million tips from them. I had four of the staff members talking to me for what had to be at least 30min. And I spoke with two of them for an additional 15-20min! I was the only customer in the store after they took care of the morning rush, but still! I didn't even buy anything! (today!)

At other paces I am used to having gear pushed on me, being pushed to get the next level of whatever I am buying, having sales men conveniently omit information that will let me realize I DON'T need the next level... I @$%&ing hate that! I have sunk money into things I didn't need! Those places are NOT getting my business ever again.

The staff at Coffey Sound is the ANTIDOTE! They know their stuff left and right, up and down, and I never once felt they were trying to sell me anything!!!

I have gotten great deals there too. They've even price matched items for me before!

I just wanted to get that off my chest and say that Coffey is my place, for life if they stay this way!

+1

Love them! Even when I need to rent or buy some equips that requires CA tax, I still get it from them. When it was my first time into the store front, Sherrie was surprised that I came all the way down from San Fran to visit and grab some stuff.

Talk about taking care of their customers first.

Does Sherrie sit on the first desk when you come in? Cause she is a doll! A real breath of fresh air. Is she the manager? Owner?

Lol.

I don't think she's the manager nor the owner. The owner is John Coffey and he usually hangs out at the shop, on local shoots, other HQ, or just chillin'.

Oh, ok. Never got to meet him yet and only had the pleasure to talk briefly with Sherrie.

Like I said I didn't even get anything today. And they still treated me the like I was picking up a 788T.

After talking to them I decided to wait for the Magic Lantern guys to get the AGC turned off on the 7D, then I pick up an MM-1, for the smallest and easiest, but best quality pre-amp, for a single boom to the camera's 16/48. Keep things nice and simple, just for my personal kit. Nothing fancy at all.

I came in to look at the little H4n recorder. But got treated like I was looking at a $3,000 piece of gear, not a $300 recorder! They are a very pleasant group to be greeted by, and they have a lot of knowledge that they were willing to share with me for as long as I kept up with their knowledge.

I hope to pick up a single Lectro from them in the future to make my setup more mobile. Maybe an NLE interface board too. And I'll be glad to give them my business because I feel they will help me make the best choice, and not try to push some **** on me like other places have done before.

I've been there about five times now, and all of them have been the same. A pleasure.
