F3: Hyperdeck Shuttle v2 trigger with F3

Ok good to know, and good clarification. I wasn't sure how to get exFat to show up under "format disk" because it didn't for me.

That macdrive costs money anyway, so better if you don't need to use it anyway.

Windows 7 wouldn't format exfat for me untiil I installed the extra utility.

Hi Dennis,

You have to do it under disk management utility. A bit geeky in operation. Having a devil of a time getting files off without torpedoing the drive partition and doing a re-partition and format. I have the disk drive allocation setup via the BIOS to allow me to safely remove the disks without shutting the machine down.

Not sure what's up with the file removal issue.

I'm pretty sure I tried under disk management utility but its been a while so don't remember. I'd have to hook it up again and see.

I do have several other physical disk drives on my machine and when I right click any of them and select format, only on one of them do I see exFat. But on the SSD for the hyperdeck when it was hooked up for sure 100% NTFS is the only one that ever showed up.

So what is it that's unique about the initial setup of any hard drive that allows it to additionally display "exFat" as an option instead of just NTFS?

Luckily I've been using MacDrive for years. But it's nice to know Win PC's can also natively read and format the drives.
