Hypercrane 20'/10' Adjustable Jib

Well you've figured out how to build everything else you guys need ... I guess a couple clones shouldn't be too difficult, right?
I did genetically clone myself... And got this guy... In a dress...

I've tried to get him to work but all he does is clone himself!

See? His clone looks way better than my clone... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Amazing job on the crane, Gary! Looks fantastic.

Also, what kind of antique cars are you selling? Heh heh. My grandfather is actually an antique car collector.

This thing is bulky, ugly, and looks like it was put together with pieces from the trash. I LOVE IT! This freaking thing rocks!

LOL! I guess only the bicycle parts were kind of categorized as trash. They came from complete old bike frames. Hehe...One man's trash is another man's Hypercrane. It'll look better when it is painted. I'll try to post footage soon.

I painted the HyperCrane hammertone black. It looks GREAT! Great paint! It went on really thick and left a cool dust-hiding finish. I got it at True Value hardware and shot it with my car touch-up paint gun. I left the tripod, pulley wheels, cables and attachments all original metallic tone.

I have disassembled it, and as I hoped it went apart really fast. All of the cables except the tall dorsal stays fit into a tool chest. I will be attaching the pieces together with velcro straps and will post a pic today of what the totally disassembled HyperCrane looks like, ready for transport to a set.

I am getting it ready for Matt, and for Troy Ruff's Twilight Fest films. :)

Here is the HyperCrane disassembled. It will be easy to transport. :)

This is the magic box with cables, casters, camera head and assorted weight locks, pins and hardware. The head has the wheels on it.

That thing is looking very serious, way cool.

When do you think you will start the make you own hyper crane thread???

That´s one hell of a crane you build there Gary.
Makes the one I build look like a toy.

Grat job!

When do you think you will start the make you own hyper crane thread???

I will begin the thread hopefully soon as I have been super busy getting a 50 year old Ford tractor restored lately. I mask and paint today and tomorrow and after that I will do the thread. I am going to try flickr for posting the pics as there are around 200 shots of each and every step for the build, including measurements on each shot.

To get ready, get a MIG welder, a bench grinder, a 4" hand grinder, dremel with small grinder tip, drill, air cut-off wheel, round files and your tool box ready. If you can' find a strong tripod, you can buy a new 1.5" tubing speaker tripod from Musician's Friend for around $60 that will do nicely. :)

Sweet!! I'll make sure to prep by getting access to that equipment. Really looking forward to it!!

NOTICE: I have started the build thread. Goto 10'/20 HyperCrane build.

Go build your crane! YeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaa!:2vrolijk_08:

I will be posting pics of the HyperCrane in action shooting the Ruff Productions film Project Psych Light on this thread soon. The crane will be used for shots this Sunday, September 14th. :)
