Here's a test in mixed light.

Exposure is pretty good considering there was a lot of variation in light.

Darn it, Tony. It seems as though I'm destined to follow your footsteps in all of my camera purchases. I came from the T2i to the GH2, bought a GH1 backup camera - and now, if I keep watching these HX9v videos...

brunerww,

LOL... The problem is that they are all so good! The only one that I really haven't posted any footage with yet (but does awesome 1080p60 also...) is my Panasonic SDT750 camcorder. Just don't have enough time to experiment with all of them. The Sony is pretty cool though, since it fits in my laptop bag pocket, so I can have it easily available anytime I want it. That alone makes it worthwhile. The GH2 is a much better camera, but it's a pain lugging around the bag full of lenses and crap. You'll love it if you get it.... (which you will, I can tell already!)

Have fun with it!

Because from what i understand, Vimeo reduces everything to 720 anyway. At least that's what I've read so far. Also to clarify I AM working in a 1080p24 timeline but then I RENDER to a 720p24 mp4 preset that i use for Vimeo. Sorry for any confusion.

Tony

Why did you put it in a 720 24p timeline rather than a 1080 24p timeline?

Oh cool, just wondering.

Tony - sadly, it looks like I'm breaking ranks this time - I just bought a Panasonic FZ150 - the reviews are good and I'm hoping that it matches the HX9V in image quality, but what I really like is that it looks like a GH2 "mini-me" - with the articulating LCD and external mic input. I'll post samples when it comes in.

Cheers,

Bill

Bill, glad you bought the FZ150 as interested in this 'mini-me' GH2 as well. I saw some video footage on vimeo produced by Gordon Laing from cameralabs who was testing the audio. I believe he said the mic jack needs a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor. I noted in the video that the background tended to breath in and out of focus very slightly, but I think Gordon said this was due to the partucular automatic iA setting he was using. Anway, I will be interested in seeing any footage you post and also in hearing your thoughts about the camera. Thanks
