I like that from my HVX I can either log and capture through firewire to FCP or use my Citidisk HD(also firewire). I got the impression I could do neither from the AF-100. Is that right?
Not argumentative at all- But I love both my AF100 (as do many, though not all, on the AF100 forum) and my HPX170.
No regrets. Can't be beat for the money. There is a learning curve in dialing it in though.
Renee, I don't know FCP, but I think with an SD card reader you can L&T to FCP without any problems. Many are using FCP + AF100.
I would imagine you could rent an AF100 in SF, I think they can be had for $250ish/day in many areas (I think some out of state rental houses even deliver at $250/day), though you'd be dealing with opening the EF aperture on the Canon body as I noted before.
You could try it at your office in a controlled lighting situation.
But a test drive might be beneficial in seeing if the look of the camera, and the editing workflow are something you and your boss would be interested in.
Sure. I don't think I have any 1 minute clips right now, and especially none with the entire card structure (which FCP needs, but CS5 doesn't), but I'll get you one ASAP.
