HVX200 Screen is black, No video through lcd/viewfinder

So. Hvx200. Turns on fine everything looks like it works fine. But there is no video coming up on the LCD or viewfinder. Also does not record video. It says Recording but nothing but a black screen....

P2 cards are in it.

Iris is open

Shutter is open

There is light in the room.

Any ideas?
 
is the lens cap on?
do you have headphones plugged in?

i recently made the mistake of plugging my headphones into the iris control port. that locks the iris to closed and all you get is black screen
 
I wish the lens cap was on. And no iris control is not plugged in. There is nothing obvious happening. I use this camera everyday and know how to use it.
 
so youre getting data on the screen right? if so, it sounds like a malfunctioning iris.

you MIGHT try plugging a headphone plug into the iris control jack. maybe that will kick it back into functioning... just an idea.
 
Records audio just fine... as well. Everything works just like normal just acts like the iris is closed. but its not
 
tired pluggin in headphone jack into iris control just now. no workie. says iris is closed. then i pull it out and says iris is open.
 
Has anyone found a solution to this>????It's totally F$%king me right now! Crucial filming was missed today cause my camera decided to go black.
 
Do you do a factory reset?

It's hard to troubleshoot from here.

Have you contacted a repair center to ask about the issue.

Try SC.
 
I would push the reset button, and do a hard reset before freaking out... Probably should have been the first or second thing you tried, once you identified that there was a problem.
