HVX200 questions from a non user

I am going to be producing a short march 6th and the dp?camera guy will be using 2 hvx200s. I am planning on having a laptop and an external hard drive to load the footage on AFTER the shooting.
I've never messed with P2 footage before and I don't have a P2 card reader.
I believe you can off load the footage via a usb conection to the laptop...yes?
Also, what does the content look like? i e what is the folder structure I should make sure I have on the laptop/hd before I let the dp go? (everything in the contents folder?)
Hope I explained that correctly, I just want to make sure I get everything I need to edit on Premiere pro cs4 after he leaves. (he lives 60 miles away.)

Yes, you can offload files from the camera to your computer/external hard drive via USB. You will want to create a seperate folder for each card you shoot. Give each folder a unique name: Card 1, Card2, Card3...or whatever you would like. Inside each of those folders you will transfer the contents folder and last clip text file. Use something like P2 viewer or P2CMS or P2 Log to check your video files before erasing the cards. It is highly recommended that you make a redundant copy of the folders/files on a second external hard drive as a back up.

Here is a link to a Panasonic page with a ton of info and links that might help you. Unfortunately nothing is lilsted here on this page for Premiere (everything else just not Premiere). But, you may find useful information. Here's the link-->http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webap...=243668&catGroupId=34401&surfModel=AG-HVX200A

Thanks for the info Jim. I downloaded the P2 viewer and drivers for my laptop, but I don't think that tired old thing will play DVCPro100 in real time. I should be able to tell if the footage is OK though. (until I get it back to the editing box.
Premiere has a preset setting for P2 DVCPro 100 footage so I don't think that will be a problem.
Thanks
