As someone who has ordered the NTSC version, all I can say is it would be very enlightening to see a side-by-side comparison of the PAL and NTSC models...

Only if both NTSC & PAL models were attached to the same monitor, and you could see a difference in noise, then it could be proven.
(or attached to a rod on the LV strip and taken to the Treasure Island show!)

Both models of the camera need to be compared under the exact same conditions. This idea/theory/rumour that the PAL model is superior, if proven, would be a BIG deal.

Something like this needs to be validated with real scientific evidence before it can be taken seriously. It's worth looking into.

I think the same Richard. Hope to see a comparison test soon. I'm pretty sure it was so clean because was a prerelease model, but of course I hope it will remain the same.
Italian sellers told me that all this delay is due to fix problems of the camera, I think is pretty reasonable.
Why wait all this time? Panasonic knows the problems of Ntsc camera was told me.
My feelings is that here in Italy we're more careful to ours investment and we are hard to please considering Euro money value than dollars...and IVA...the camera here is more pricy than USA. We want a *GOOD* camera here! :)

No HVXC available right now, 1 week of April they start coming in.

Ik probeer door het marketing geweld heen de kwaliteit te bekijken en wil eens een cam in de hand houden. Geen deals hier, gewoon de adviesprijzen ben ik bang!

I allready ordered my hvx pal back in december and i REALLY hope that i will get it till the end of march for a production!
Its nice to hear that you seem to be kind of convinced of the cameras skills now.(i appreciated your criticism-with special napolianian humor-in the past-so thanks for the report.

Could the officials tell you anything about the real release?
I just hear friday from some people here, but its so hard to believe(also if i really WANT to believe..!) after what we have seen with the "29th december" release....lets cross fingers..!

p.s.Danilo-dove abiti a napoli?Sono la in Aprile, possiamo prnedere una Pizza a "Da Michelle"...!?

PP:SS:-just read your release add after i finished the post...sounds like it could become reality at the end of march..but really hard to me as i leave for the production at the 5th of april...brrr!

Haagtechno doesn't know anything or just not willing to give information! When the Canon XL2 arrived in the Netherlands there were all kinds of demonstrations at local stores, I dont' think we get those demo's for the HVX from our "friends" at Haagtechno!


I think we could get a special price at Promediastore. Maybe even a better price if we make a group buy :)

I played with the HVX at the IBC last year and it feels great and wanna have it! All this time I've been reading this forum and all the other info and forums on the web about the HVX.

sorry for not following the thread i opened sunday, i'm working on a stupid spot with the z1 and cant wait to swap it for the 200.
When saying that the model at adcom was both pal and ntsc i was ironizing on the informations given to me by the vendors, one was saying the model shown was a pal, the other ntsc. So, for my convenience, i assumed the model was an amazing ntsc/pal. Thanks Danilo for your report (but I believe only the blond was good as you say), please Dan, pm your phone for an exchange of opinions (on cameras and girls).
Best to all, i go back placing down a 3 meters track in my iving room for today shot.

- Only Adcom had PAL prerelease model
- D1 and others vendors had NTSC version

I live in Quarto (near to Pozzuoli, the city where's born Sophia Loren).
But how we can speak? I know only few words of english, here is more simple because write is more simple ya know. Well...PM when you think to come here, so we can meet at Naples (Piazza Dante is well know as place, is near to Montesanto train station).
Do you speak a little of italian?

At IBC I saw the NTSC nonproduction model.
fotokonijnenberg heeft nu de goedkoopste prijs? Vocas gaat ook verkopen.
Promediastore geeft korting boven de 20.000E. Ze zijn geen officiele Panasonic leverancier. Ik heb geen haast, maar misschien is het handig de Nederlanders samen te laten werken.

btw It is nice to see that if I start speaking Dutch more new Dutch members are popping Up ;>)

I heard from different people in the "UK".Thread that their dealers say that pal cams are already shipping or shipping(in the uk) on wednesday.
Anyone else from somewhere europe heard anything like this??

I am just wandering cause in this thread we hear things like..."comin in 1 or two weeks(like from danilo after the expo..)

My dealer says that Panasonic have told them that stocks will arrive this week - HVX + FS100 Firestore.

When I've worked on Ntsc version I've set all Cinegammas, and saturated the colors at max (very very very red) and the realtime footage was on little crt (i dunno if hd, but I believe it was) , it should mask noise (crt mask noise), but it showed a lot. All was well illuminated.
Tested Pal camera with a Panasonic display Hd (30") the same settings, altering till burnin' the image, oversaturating in evr'y way...NO NOISE.
Maybe it was a miracle I dunno, but it was perfect...

Great Idea of you. The dutchies should indeed make a joined effort in buying their HVXe 's so we get a good offer at the best dealer (I am not sure which is the best dealer for this kind o stuff in the NL). Starting a separate thread for the dutches???

great info about dealers Mjay. Will have a ook at their sites for the best deal. I will also wait untill after the NAB where hopefully the 16 G will be introduced.
