Hello my friends!
I'm back from Rome! *smile*
I know...I know all of you wanna know what's happened here!
First I would thanks Barry Green, Emanuel, Spz, and all the friends here. Evr'yone was important to me when I've touched not only Hvx200e but ev'ry camera!
The manifestation in Rome was good, really good to test ev'ry camera we've knew on the internet and was very educative!
First I've tested Hvx200e (a pre-release model) at Adcom stand.
It was via component out to a Panasonic Monitor (about 30").
No P2 all I've seen was via component.
The picture was astonishing, I've tested Cinegamma D and V, Master Pedestal, Chroma etc...
I was filming two babes (never seen girls so beauty as there) with neon lights (one was of 250 and the other of 150 watt) at the right and left side of the beautiful girls.
I've saturated the colors in evr'y way, I've searched in the shadows, in evr'y details, also between the legs of the girls (they dressed a spectacular miniskirt...)
Noise was absent, colors was very very filmlike, you can fall in love with it!
The viewfinder was in black and white (horrid) you can't see a damn thing in there (it oughta be a color viewfinder, right? Prerelease stuff). The lcd was very poor! Good maybe for sd work but for Hd was useless...
The zoom I've tested with Varizoom was very good, I've also tested on camera, I've noticed that the focus ring was very tough, but the ring of the zoom fluid.
I've tested 1080 25p, 1080i, 720p 25, 720p50. At 1080p the picture was incredible, very good at 720p too, at dv good too.
The zoom at 13x was good but I'd preferred more long that 13x...
Then I've tested Canon Xl H1! This camera is a computer guys! It has a lots of buttons and drived me crazy! The quality of footage I was filming was very videoish, I've did the trick, set Cinegamma on Canon (two cinegammas) but the picture was still very videoish, I've changed master pedestals, change shutter, used a nd filter...but it was still "video".
It lacked of latitude in evr'y mode. I've tested 1080i, 25f and 30f, never seen a drastically drop out in resolution between 1080i and 25f to tell the truth, but it was there.
Dunno how many possibilities you can Zoom with Canon, it seems that on the top of the camera has only buttons to zoom!
The zoom was spectacular, you can set the speed and it's very accurately!
The Canon camera is very big, I've some problems to puts my hands on it!
The viewfinder was beauty, you can see the things right there! I dunno if it was original of the camera because I've read that was very bad. IT had the Canon logo on it.
It was as watchin' a little crt television in the viewfinder! Excellent work!
Definitely the picture seems to me good for weddings video, it's just a feeling.
When I've tried to saturate the colors, it was very accurate, but Panasonic did it well. Panasonic seems to saturate colors as they are chemicals, Canon as they are digital.
I've tested Jvc Hd100 with Mini35, and Jvc Hd100 with Redmicro M2.
On the first case, there was a primes on Jvc and Mini35, so you can only to focus or not on the subject (others stunning girls), I've did some test but the little Lcd that was there really provided an ugly picture...so after some test I was really annoyed and gone away.
Worse for Micro35 and Jvc, it was wired to a mini lcd (horrid) the picture was horrible...but I'm pretty sure if they had a large screen it could be interesting to see...
This is a brief report, only about the things they have captured my attention, I've also tested Hdcam and Varicam.
The Hdcam was perfect...
About two or three weeks I'll do some test with Panasonic Hvx200 in Naples with a company! Hope to test P2 cards and see if the noise a macro block are resolved. Also the italian company knows the problems (someone try to hide...) and had trust that Panasonic fix that for Pal users.
If someone has some question just ask!
Thanks to the community all!
Cheers
