Hello:

I was wondering how Hvx200 owners felt the camcorder handles in low light situations. How does the Hvx200 handle low light compared to the DVX100, jvc gy-hd100? Is the Hvx200 very noise picture regarding picture when low light is present.

Any responses would be appreciated

my experience is not good both in minitape and p2 regardless of resolution, on the other hand with reasonable light the quality is tremendouz.

There's a few threads here that discuss the low light capabilities of the HVX.

From what most people have experienced, low light is going to give you a lot of noise. The HVX is an HD camera so it's going to need more light than the DVX did (though the DVX got noise with low light as well but not nearly to this extent).

As for comparisons to the HD100, it depends. The HVX200 is a bit more sensative and has a higher lattitude. As for noise in low light, most people who have experimented with both say they have similar amounts of noise (Barry, Adam Wilt, Justyn).
