New to the forum and to owning a panasonic camera. Out of the box I can say I am truely impressed. Or camera unfornately shipped with out the p2 card and p2store so we have manily been looing at footage on a plasma and shootiing some dv footage..
The whole noise thing to me was over blown. You can't go into a black hole an shoot but with just a little bit of basic lighting you get a great image. If you don't have lights, and have very little knowlege of how to light I could see how it may be disapointing. Your not going to make a room lit with flouresent look like a movie.
We own several cameras pd-170,xl2, dsr500 and have been satisfied with all of them. With just a few hours of playing with the hvx we all are impressed with this camera. By far a great $8400 investment(thats with 2x4gbp2cards and the p2 store). We have plans to intercut upcoming footage with 16mm and after just a little bit of testing today have no worries. :thumbup:
