hvx200 and new to firestore use

Just picked up, an hvx, FS-100, decent manfrotto with the 503* i think head, a couple other accessories like a century optics fisheye.

I've been using a dvx to film surfing, skating, and events (bus. seminars for a university and weddings).. I am wondering how to go about shooting SD to my firestore, and what settings to set the FS100 to so that i can click and drag the files into FCP.
I was doing some test shoots today at the beach and i have all MXF files and it commands me to find an application to open them. Do i need to set it to quicktime?? or is there some kind of conversion that i need to change?

You have to read the manual.

What you do with the FS-100 governs how to import them into FCP 5.04 or later.

If you shot mxf format, you must first do the "organize clips" function on the FS before you mount it and log and transfer
