HVX workflow for both PC and FCP

Yo all....I am preparing to do a remote shoot with the HVX, and will be backing off both via PC (primary) and onto a drive for a Mac to use (secondary). I would like to load from p2 to pc drive, then later copy contents from pc drive to mac drive to hand to client. My concern is utilizing a workflow that does not involve the p2 store. Is there a particular directory structre to use that will allow for easy import of the footage from the mac drive into FCP 5.1.4?
thanks

You don't need a "mac" drive, and a "pc drive". You just need a hard drive that is formatted fat32. It will work on either a mac, or a pc.

The two main options would be:
1) offload directly onto an external drive. But, you will be limited to 15 partitions if you offload directly to a hard drive from the camera.

2) Offload to an external drive via a laptop. Either, by sticking the p2 card into the laptops pcmcia slot, and dumping the files to your external drive. Or, by offloading via the usb to your laptops hard drive. The disadvantage to offloading via usb or firewire, is that you tie up your camera as well.

The file structure you maintain for a card is just like it is on a card. You are transferring the "contents" folder, and the lastclip.txt file to your external drive.

You hand the drive over, they plug it in to their computer and do their thing.
