HVX vs. peli case.

ok, I have like the Peli 1650 / 1610 (cant remember which one exactly) its got seven clips....

But, Im doing the pick and pluck thing....but am i supposed to remove the pick and pluck from Both layers???...

at the moment I only have the top layer removed, it feels a little tight, but If I remove the foam from the Bottom layer as well It seems like it might be a bit deep in there? like the camera could slide sideways in the case.

I mean I made a gap for my charger and it dissapeared into the top layer of foam never to be seen again!

I have a pelican 1600 for my dvx, I removed both layers of foam. Made it a tight fit from side to side just in case it was too deep. but it fits nice with both layers pulled out.

Try and remove the base layer as whole sections you require then take a sharp knife and slice through half of the removed section (giving you 2 plan sections, so to speak). Insert one half back into the base section and Viola you have a half depth insteadof your full depth.

I would take a pic of my custom pelican for the HVX, but it is not in my possession

Basically, with the case on the floor, lid open, the camera sits upright in the center left. There is a cutout for a P2 Store under it on the bottom left. And cut outs for two panny batt chargers and two 5400 batters in the bottom right. On the center right there is a cutout for a small mattebox or cables, extra batteries, chargers etc. And across the top are two more cutouts for whatever. batteries, cards, cables, etc.

Overall its not a bad case.
