HVX vs. JVC

Is the HVX w/ the firestore a reasonable option for documentary filmmaking? Also, how does the HVX compare with the JVC HD 100 in terms of documentary filmmaking?

In my experience, the Firestore works well as long as there's no excessive vibration and if the Firewire cable is well seated and protected from any disturbances.

There have been problems of the camera either not starting or stopping when the start/stop button is pressed. And, of course, the first of those two problems can be very serious if it's an unrepeatable event.

That said, I switched over to an all P2 workflow. While I don't like having to swap out cards and I really liked the 6-second record-ahead feature of the Firestore, I find the reliability of the P2 system to be much more important to what I do.
