Hey guys - Check out this review of the Cloverfield Blu Ray (specifically the video section).

As far as I know this is the first example of HVX being transfered to Blu Ray (on a big budget film). This is very encouraging news for anybody like me who plans to start doing Blu Ray copies of projects shot on HVX, its good to know the footage stands up fairly well.

Anybody have any good stories/examples from making HVX Blu Rays (obviously on a
much more "humble" budget). I've heard mixed things about Blu Ray burning.

My tests with blu ray encoding using CS3 Encore and the Main Concept encoder with DVCProHD footage were pretty disappointing when encoding to h.264.

Yeah, thats similar to what I've heard...I guess Cloverfield used big budget encoding...hopefully when Macs can burn Blu Rays with FCS (which I hope is sooner than later, we've been waiting long enough) they will do a little better.
