HVX Solution We've All been waiting for - iStore

It's great when people are innovative in their thinking, but to call things too expensive or unreliable when there are those of us who don't bear that out seems to be full of assumptions.

If the HVX and its partners are too expensive then go for a camera that can record to tape ... The option is there, making things fit and fudge a particular work flow just seems to be missing the point in some cases.

I've manage to recoup the costs of my P2 investment by increasing my own costs, and offering the benefits to the client by why of instant shot approval or edit, charging more for the hidef element or hiring the cards out.

And all without the worry of stuff not being up to the job.

I don't think the P2store is too expensive, but I've yet to find a scenario where I actually need one - choosing a laptop over this has been my decision and it's worked great. Perhaps the problem with the P2store is that it doesn't have a direct competitor.

Also this issue of too expensive, when I started and invested £17,000 in to pro level S-VHS that was as unreliable as muck and delivered picture quality of the same - and I had no work - I still managed to get through somehow, accepted the cost and found the clients to pay for it.

"Expensive" gear in my world helps retain a certain exclusivity and price to charge my client . I sell the benefits of the P2 system and work to its strengths, if I'm messing with a £100 hit and miss offloading system - personally I don't think I'm doing that.

Really, trust me, it's not a rumor. This 3.0 update really is coming out. Really does what it says it'll do.
