HVX questions Thanks

Hi there,
I'm currently in pre production for a 10 minute short I'm shooting just next weekend. I was able to get my hands on the HVX i'll be renting today as to "test" it and figure the p2 workflow out. I've learned how to import into final cut, but i'm not quite sure how to set up my final cut timeline. Should I really be asked to render when throwing the 720 24 p clips into the timeline?

Also, theres tons of info on this and I've read it before and can't seem to find it now.
If i want to shoot at 1.5 x slower i'd shoot
720 60 ? and then can i bring that into the same timeline and it will play back...

thanks for your time
adam

FCP is going to "re-wrap" the mxf files from the HVX as qt files. So, that process has to occur before you can work with your footage in FCP.

To do slo-mo, select your 720/24pn setting. Then go to Menu - Scene File - Frame Rate. Choose a frame rate higher than 24. 48fps would be 2x slo-mo. 60 would be 2.5x slo-mo and so on.

I think you have to also put the footy through some frame rate converter with FCP though, when you have over or undercranked footy, but I'm not sure, as I'm not a mac user.
