HVX on Glidecam 4000

I max the sled out at 18lbs. There's no way you're going to hold it longer than 30secs without the vest.

It will be sufficient for the HVX w/ monitor and mic. It was for me (and yes, hand holding it is terrible. Its doable, but only for short bursts, and your arm will feel like crap)

I originally got the 4000 and smooth shooter for use with one of my dvxes, but I had some projects about 4 years ago where I rented a pair of hvxes and these images were from just before the start of one of those. I don't actually go around holding the rig with just a pair of fingers, but wanted to illustrate how easy a balanced rig is to maneuver and these were those: set the self timer on the camera, push the button and get into frame type shots.

i do it from 1-2 mins at time alot, seeing how i film skiing and its usually a whole run through a park.

to OP, i believe i have 6 or 7 weights on each side and then the pole is all the way out, works like a dream

I was just watching some of your videos, in those west coast videos are you using the glidecam for chase?
