HVX not reading Firestore

I just received the fs100 firestore and during tests, it worked fine with my HVX200. I went to the field on a shoot and... nothing. The camera is not reading the firestore under any of the video formats.

I had a similar problem with hooking regular hard drives to it via firewire. Sometimes they would talk, others... nothing.

Does anyone have any idea?

After I arm the Firestore by pressing the record button on the firestore, there should be a red pause icon next to the "1394" on the Viewfinder, but
nothing.
 
Are you sure that you don't have put the firewire cable on "computer" input of FS-100 ??? Check that you have put the hvx on "DV" input of FS-100 when you want record and "COMPUTER" when you want to connect FS-100 to computer...
 
I brought the camera back to Panasonic. It was in fact the firewire port that needed to be replaced.

Thanks for all of the trouble shooting suggestions.

Dang, sorry to hear that. It seems that:

HVX200 + FireStore = lots-o-firewire port problems

No, hir the record button on the HVX, don't do anything to the FS.
