HVX Live Keying

The cam has been out for a while now and I´m wondering wich workflows considering live keying with the HVX have prevailed.
Since I´m planning to record longterm greenscreen footage (2-5 hours) that´ll later be compressed for web I can only estimate the renderingtime for keying and compression to be insane...
So which ways do I have to do livekeying with the HVX on the Mac?
Software solutions like SM Ultra running under Bootcamp?
Kona or Decklink cards?
Using the component out or just firewire?
How do you guys do it?

Anyone?
Nobody keying with the HVX hooked up to a computer?
All I want to do is save the time keying in post would take...
Basically sth most switchers do, I also remember the old matrox cards doing this for the Inscriber software...
If this has been discussed before in detail, feel free to link me to it ;o)

Are you wanting to do SD or HD? I think Serious Magic is your best/cheapest bet for SD via firewire, and I saw a prototype HD version at NAB in April, but it's not on the market yet and was going to be very expensive if I remember.

No cheap switcher based hardware keyer will do as good a job as you can in software in post unless you step up to a hardware Ultimatte rental in SD for $$ and HD Ultimatte for serious $$$.

Personally, I'd still do it in software... so what if it takes a few days, if you've got the time? Set it up in AE, batch it and let them rip...

Hey Jim,
I´ll be looking in purchasing some macminis to, as you suggested, do the keying in post.
Since I don´t want to occupy the macpro all the time and have it running day and night, this seems to be the best solution...
But I still can´t believe there ain´t a video card out there that lets you do on the fly keying/compositing...

The Ultimatte DV is $2995 http://www.dvcreators.net/ultimatte-dv-chroma-keyer/

If you're doing hours of footage, it will easily pay for itself. Plus, you get the benefit of being able to light the scene more realistically by getting immediate feedback as you see the final composite in real time. Check out the Episode "SATA External drives" at http://dvestore.com/dvgeartalk.html
We were able to toss in a minty greenish colored light to mimic the overhead lighting in the background. Watch the end where I pull the green screen down.

One more software option is http://www.varasoftware.com/products/wirecast/

That Wirecast link was pure gold!
Thanks Guy!
Only downside was: "Yeah, it can do HDV!" "Oh, wait, I´m working with DVCproHD..."
DVCproHD may be the better codec, but its lacking support and integration in the postworld is just plain annoying...
