my first question,
If I shot 1080i 60fps I should select FCP 1080i 60 in the easy setup, then my FCP Layout should look like an HD layout insteead of standard, Right?
That isn't happeneing...

Also, I saw a tutorial about shooting with HVX-200 at 720p with multiple framerates for under and over cranking. one of the steps said that after i import I need to go to Tools>DVCPROHD Frame Rate Conversion.
When I select Tools, the DVCPROHD Frame Rate Conversion option is not even there...
I am running FCP 5.1.2

I recorded that using my FS-100 in the 720 24p mode at 12fps
Help???

First, you're choosing the correct Easy Setup. The Canvas and Viewer windows won't nessisarily resize, depending on your monitor's abilities, but they will go into what we'd call a Letterbox mode. Drop a clip into the Timeline, put the playhead over it, you should see it as 16:9 in the Canvas. There should be gray bars at the top and bottom of the Canvas window. The differences between SD and HD with no footage in the windows is really not much to notice.

If you're doing variable frame rates, you will be editing in a 720p24 Sequence, not 1080i.

The Frame Rate Converter is located in the Extras folder of your Final Cut Studio installation DVD, the first one you put in. Copy it to your Plug-ins folder. There should be a text file with it explaining how to do all that. It doesn't install by default.

I hope it was my tutorial you watched...
