HVX First Timer

I finally got to shoot some stuff with the HVX this past weekend! I was helping a producer friend of mine on a documentary. Just went, thinking I was gonna be a grip or something (which I was), but before long I'm holding the camera in my hands being a babysitter, so I was like "whoa, cool!" I wound up babysitting the HVX and a DVX for about 15 or twenty minutes, next thing I know they're yelling action on the megaphone, fake snow is pouring from the roof tops, classic cars are rolling through the blocked off street, kids in costume are getting out of them in front of an old movie theatre and being greeted by Santa Caus under a marquee bearing the title "Cinderfella" among others and I am getting the shots with the HVX! Absolutely surreal, being on a REAL film set, with real equipment and me playing camera man with one of the coolest cams in the world. So, I thought I would tell as many people as I could. Yaya!!!!!!:Drogar-Dum(DBG):

I just ordered my HVX today, and it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow, but with the snow in Colorado right now, I kinda doubt it will. I'm very excited to shooting my first HVX short, though.

It is truely an outstanding camera. I don't know too much about most HD cameras, but this one has surprisingly good lattitude, which to me is more important than a super sharp picture. We shot outdoors in bright daylight and there was really sharp contrast as the actors were under a theater marquee. The HVX performed extremely well. The highlights did not clip and we got a good exposure.
