HVX FCP workflow error

Hey guys,

I'm trying to import footage from P2 through the HVX into Final Cut. When I do, the audio is out of sync with the video, and the video looks glitchy, like it's stalling.

When I play it back through the camera, it's fine, so it must be something between the camera and computer.

Any advice? Thanks so much!

I'm not looking at them through the timeline, simply through the browser. When I open them up through the Mac Finder it's the same issue.

I suspect it's a drop frame issue, but don't know anything more.

It's not a drop frame issue.

Don't know what it is, but it's not that. Drop-frame timecode doesn't do anything to the video or the audio -- it doesn't drop frames. It simply counts them differently.

Hmm... gotcha.

Still, no idea what the issue could be. Playback through the camera is fine, and then when I import the audio's all out of sync and the video stalls. I've tried importing through another camera and it's the same issue, so I know it's not a bad connection between the pin and computer.

David: I believe he is referring to dropping frames, not "drop frame."

First of all, what media drive with what specs are you playing the video from?

And what version of hardware and software with what RAM are you using?

Fixed the problem! There was an option in the Transfer menu to "remove drop frames" that was clicked, and I unclicked it.
