HVX Direct To Hard Drive Capture with Vegas 8?

Hey guys, I've been tasked with putting together a small video production setup at my workplace and I've talked the boss into an HVX. They will be providing a computer (probably a notebook) and software. I'm a long time Vegas user and was planning on getting Vegas 8 for this studio.

We have a 2TB media server here, and I was wondering how tough it would be or what other hardware/software I might need to be able to connect the HVX directly the notebook, bypass the tape, and capture directly to the notebook hard drive? They want to get this thing up and running as soon as possible and they're waiting on me for answers! :dankk2:
 
Are you asking whether Vegas 8 supports HVX200 capturing or for other utilities?

OnLocation (formerly DV Rack HD 2.0 from Serious Magic) supports that, but it is only bundled as part of the Adobe Production package I believe.
 
OK, after reading MANY more articles on the topic, I've found some better workflow options. Thanks for the help!
