When I bring in footage to Premiere, the audio(4 channels) ends up on 2 stereo tracks. All I usually need is one or two of the channels to be centered (typically mono dialog stuff for tv spots) but am finding it very difficult to do. I would like all of the tracks to come to the timeline as separate mono files, (4 tracks) then I could unlink and delete the unused tracks and then relink only what I need to use. Does the micrphone switch settings or some internal menu setting on the HVX determine a file structure that tells how Premiere is going to place these files on a timeline? It has got to be easier than it appears to be. I come from years of editing on a DPS Velocity and right now am experiencing a bit of frustration with Premiere and what I feel should be fairly straightforward and common needs. I hope this make sense to someone out there.
Thanks!
