HVX 200A Wedding

I have a 3 camera wedding to do this Monday (memorial day).

The HVX200A I would like to be the camera that captures my main audio.
I have about $400 to spend on materials, I am considering a G-drive 750 for secondary backups in the field.

My main drive is a 250 G-Drive which has been formatted by the camera so all I Have to do is plug in, power up, and dump. However I'd rather not put all my eggs in one basket I'd rather back them up to a 2nd drive just to be safe.

Maybe 750 is too high (they should really be paying more).

Well I have 1p2 card right now 16gig I figure every 40mins...



I am also debating if I should just do cuts with the HVX, but then again I still need
audio. If I were to record the audio using my macbook pro that would still require a shot gun mic, and an XLR to mini plug converter, and then again the HVX will have the wireless Sennheiser So I do need to use it.
 
(1) P2 doesn't give you much flexibility. What if the cerimony is 50 minutes or longer?

And your other cams - are they .dv tape?

I don't think you need a 750GB drive, just a smaller 160 or 250 and invest in another P2.
 
I was suppose to get two 16gig p2 cards from spec-comm but they weren't in stock I was only able to get one. It is unlikely the 2nd will come today, so I have to improvise I am heading down to B&H so if you guys can reply in the next 5mins it will help a lot.

I am thinking about getting the 160gig smart disk and using a bescor power pack so that the drive can stay next to the HVX these are the items:

yeah rent some more 16GB cards- that or you'd have to hire someone to run the dumps. Weddings don't wait for camera to be ready.

Ended up getting a 160gig smartdisk and an extra battery for the macbook pro

To find a rental house in NYC at this last moment wouldn't have worked for me.
Bride came with her deposit today wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to late for prep time.

Anyway I will post results when I get the footage captured.
