HVX 200A vs. 200P vs. 200N

I know that HVX200A is much improved over the HVX200. I'm looking for something with as good or better low-light sensitivity as the 200A.

What are the differences between HVX 200A vs. 200P vs. 200N ?

Which are newer / better? Are the 200N and 200P as good low-light and low-noise wise as the 200A?

Thanks :)

The HVX200A is the latest version of the HVX200 that incorporates better low light sensitivity over the 200.

The P or N designations relate I believe to the same cam. There isn't a later version of the 200A.

There's the HVX200P, HVX200E, and HVX202EN. Those are all the first generation.

The next generation is the HVX200AP, HVX200AE, and (I guess) HVX202AE (not sure about that last one).

(And then of course there's the elusive HVX200AVII, which sold in a limited edition of 7 and offered double the resolution and chip-size at half the price, but those of us who are lucky enough to own one aren't allowed to talk about it for legal reasons. . .)

I have the 200A and was previously a user of the original HVX. To tell you the truth I didn't notice the difference with low light levels. Plus the guys from B&H said that the only thing that would make a difference is that the pixels are larger in the 200A, which I still don't understand.

Hi Nickmicros,

Thanks for the input. I do notice a significant difference in noise and light sensitivity between the first generation and 200a models. I have found a 200E on ebay for sale, and was hoping that it was the same or better generation as the 200A with the same improvements, but as it is apparentyly 1st generation without the noise/sensitivity improvements, I'll continue my search for the 200A... Thanks for clearing that up

Professional gear like this is a nightmare to source in the UK! We have to imoprt from the US in almost every instance as it just doesn't exist here.

Thanks

No problem

I dont know your budget, but in my case I would have saved more money and bought a EX1 instead of a HVX.
