I heard that if you shoot your video in 24p you can not slow motion anything in final cut because of something with duplicate frames, but if you shoot in 1080 60i or 720 30p you can slow mo or speed up any footage is this true? And what would the main difference be between 720 30p and 1080 60i?

If you shoot 720/24pn over 60, and place that in a 720/24p sequence preset, you have beautiful slow motion.

I have a scene file with that punched in and one with a standard 720/24pn setting with a native frame rate.

I switch between them between shots.

The main difference between 720/ 30p and 1080 60i? The answer is in your question.

David, could you post your "720/24pn over 60" scene file please? Its not clear to me how you do that (maybe its the terminology).
