I have just read through Barry Green's book and realized that I can connect a DVCPRO 50 deck to the HVX-200 and record in DVCPRO50 format. It didn't go into too much detail so I would greatly appreciate some help.
In order to record onto tape I did the following:
-Connect the camera and deck via Firewire
-Put the camera in P2 media mode
-Setup camera to DVCPRO50 480i 30P mode
- I noticed that I had no device control through the camera and had to hit record on the deck, but there was no other indication on the camera that it was recording. Is this normal/correct? I looked at the footage later, and it showed that the footage had recorded but just wanted to make sure this was correct.
Furthermore, I will be editing this footage along with other DVCPRO50 footage in Final Cut Pro using the DV50 easy set up (29.97fps)
Keeping all of this in mind is the 480i 30P mode the best for this, or should I be recording in 480i 60? I will be shooting interviews with this camera and deck combo.
thanks.
