HVR-Z7U questions

I'm looking at an upgrade to HD. I currently have a DVX100a. I've compared the Sony HVR-Z7U to the HVX200. I'm leaning toward Sony because of the ability to record to MiniDV at HD. It is great for archiving in HD.

I am confused on a couple things. Can you record to a standard MiniDV or do you have to record to a MiniDV HD tape?

I've heard varying info on the capture card prices. What type of capture card and what are the prices of the cards compared to the P2 cards the Panasonic uses?
 
It records to compact flash cards that are 133x speed or greater. They are really cheap now, I just bought a 32 gig for $150.00
 
The Z7 is a great choice, I think it just dropped in price on B&H. It uses standard MiniDV tapes, and you can record any combo of HD/SD on the CF/Tape, which is great for stuff you want to archive in HD, but edit right away in SD from card. Just make sure you get at least the 266x CF cards, because at 133x, it can't keep up with the tape in some instances.
 
What about the HDV workflow and quality compared to the DVCPro HD of the Panasonic?
 
you are talking about different color space. The DVCPro HD quality will be better. I own both the HVx200 and Z7u. I am using the Z7u now on a show and I really like it. I am impressed with the image quality. I like being able to record to both tape and CF card at the same time. Works great in Final Cut Pro. Actually both of them work great.
