Man, Companies ought to put prices and FULL specs on the website as soon as they announce something. Period. Whats the point in causing frustration and confusion?

If this camera turns out NOT to be 1920*1080 I still think the new canon a1 will have the edge...to be honest, EVEN with 1920*1080 I think the canon a1 will have the edge.

Yeah, it looks like I'll be hanging on to my FX1 for a while longer...sight...who knows, maybe panasonic will still the show once again with something like an HVX like less expensive camera...sadly it'll take some time until the next big audiovisual event.

Neither one of them are 1920x1080.

The Sony is 960x1080, up-rezzed in-camera to 1920x1080 for DSP processing, and recorded at 1440x1080.

The Canon starts at 1440x1080 and records at 1440x1080, but we don't know what happens internally.

They also should release them imedietly ;)

Nope, two totally different things.

By the time a product is announced, the Company already has the full specs (even the product is not quite complete, basic things like Sensor size arent going to change!). They just choose NOT to release them.

On the other hand, products cant be released immediately because announcement may come only at, or before the prototype stages. Actuall shipment models may take time.

In short, my complaint is legitimate.

I for one am dissapointed that the upgrade my camera is in my opinion worse. I would consider purchasing the upgrade because I have very intrigued with a three CMOS system but the fact that it is 1/4 sensor is very dissapointing and the lux rating goes from 4 to 8 lux. Light sensetivity is big for me. I love the 20X optical zoom but that is about it. This camera seems to not be in the league with the DVX anymore and not with the Vx2100 area but a semi prosumer camera. Oh well I guess I will see with the US version.
