HV20 package advice

Have been debating the move to HD camera for a while, and I think I'm going with the HV20, mostly for home stuff, short film creative stuff, etc. Pure hobby for now. I really don't have any equipment.

So, starting from scratch, what do you think of this package in terms of value and utility:

For "short film creative stuff" I would say that you don't need half the stuff in that package, and will want a boom microphone.
The mounted mic and lavalier mic included won't help much for short films, in my opinion. You also will probably never use the filters.

Just get the camera somewhere you can get a good price, and get other stuff as you need it.

Since, as you say, you need everything, most of what's here will be good enough to get you started. You will probably wish for a better tripod quickly: save up another $500, do your homework, and keep an eye on eBay.

Be sure to check out hv20.com too, there's a lot of good information there.

Thanks to you both for the advice. My local CC has it for $950 or so, which seems like a good deal. I just didn't want to miss the opportunity to get a good package deal, and B&H usually throws some good ones together.
