HV20 Blue Screen Video/ Keying results

Good job. Did you use the HV20's HDV codec or record out HDMI with an alternate codec?

i recorded it to tape and captured it then with sony vegas,
after i edited it inside vegas i rendered the clips out with the cinefrom codec.
so its 2x times mpeg2 and 1time cineform compressed footage
before it was keyed.

Nice work! Great looking clip. Did you shoot using cinemode? I did a couple of HV20 bluescreen tests myself once and got better results using cinemode.

yea i used the cinemode in the gamma settings, but i filmed with 50i,
not the 24p, cause i wnated to do slowmotion and as far as i kno 50i is smoother for slowmo shots, please correct me when im wrong.

If you shot 50i it means you have the PAL version which is capable of shooting 25p not 24p. Between 24p and 60i there is a difference since if you de-interlace 60i it will be 30p vs 24p but for 50i it is still 25p. No difference there.

footage looks amazing.

would it be possible for me to shoot in cineform with a greenscreen, not have to do the pulldown and still take out green?

also, how did you do the affects in AE??? did u make the designs from scratch?

Although if you're delivering in standard def or YouTube you can do the trick where you deinterlace the separate fields into a 50p (or 60 for NTSC) video but at half the resolution. The 1080 signal is reduced to 540 high, so not enough for 720p but probably enough for SD.

Great video, that was a very clean key for 4:2:0!
