HV20 batts compatible with A1's

Does anyone know if the HV20 will take the A1's batteries? If I eventually end up buying one it would be good to know I can use all the A1 batteries I already have.
 
Nope. Different sized batteries. The batteries from the Optura 30/40/50/60 work with the HV20.

Take in account that the A1 batteries are almost half the size of the HV20.
 
That, for me, is in fact the only downside of going for the Canon instead of the Sony. I already owned two chargers and some really good, big lithiums, which also worked with the FX1 which I had in mind (because I already knew it from previous rents and loans). But, indeed the HV20 uses really very different types of batteries.
