I Recently Purchased The Hv20 As An Entry Level Hd Camera And Found The Work Flow To Intense For My Likeing. It Was All About Having To Split The Footage (hdvsplit) And The Pulldown Issue Also The Cam Is So Small The Camera Got Lost In My Hands. Originally It Was Buy The Hv20, Ck Out Hd The Get A Xhai And Use The 20 As A Deck. Question Is Does The Workflow With The Xha1 In Hd Become As Laborious As With The Consumer Grade Hv20?

Not sure what software you are editing with.

In Final Cut, the A1 workflow is the same as DV. Digitize via firewire, edit, output. I am guessing the HV20 is the same.

Maybe it is not your camera that us too much, maybe you need to look at your editing choices.

A1 is much more straightforward for 24p workflow than HV20. Like Michael said, just like DV. With exception of the "Conforming to HDV" process if you're editing in HDV. Thats a *****.

When You Say The Xha1 Is Straight Fwd In 24p Are You Refering To 24p Sd Or Hd. Also When Capturing From The Xha1 Has The Camera Set Flags For Scene Detection, The Hv20 Does Not.
Thx, Again And Again And Again

i'm referring to both SD and HD, although HD is more straightforward (at least in FCP). as for setting flags, i'm not sure about this. i know i'm not able to "detect start/stop times" for HDV in general in FCP, but at the same time, i can "create new clip at start/stop" when capturing my HDV content from XH-A1.
