Started my little blog, trying to give back to the nice community that has helped me out tremendously over the years. New hpx500 users might find something beneficial. It also will cover general filmmaking stuff. :dankk2:

Nice Job. I do identify with the trepidation and feeling of success in removing that bottom plate.

Well done, I hope you enjoy your new camera.

Best,

Jan

Me too. It was tricky, but I got through just as you did. Time and patience.

I changed out for the IDX plate as well, though I have the IDX wireless mount bracket on mine also. Very useful.

ya know you can pick up a plate that converts AB to IDX for the same price. no screws required and gives you more power options. just slides on and locks in place like a battery.

i had to take my bottom plate off as well to add rods. those screws are really in there....

Thanks for the review of the Zacuto plate. I need to order one.

See you're waiting on Red Rock, too! Nice lens, BTW, what is it?

Mark,
I just updated my blog with 3 more plate system option for the Hpx500. Do check it out and see which one fits your needs best. Yeah I hope to get the RedRock mattebox before my shoot this Oct. With Redrock, you would never know :/ I got a normal range fujinon HD cine zoom lens on my cam. Will try to get some worth while footage posted soon. Stay tuned.

Andrew,

If I know that, I would be a very very very HAPPY man . I already placed my order and now its up to the 'RedRock Schedule'. :zombie_smiley:

But I already received my RedRock shoulder mount which will be reviewed soon next week (got a shoot this weekend).

nice blog, when you getting your mattebox?

How do you [honestly] feel about the resolution and overall image in comparison with your EX1 adventure?

Thanks for the blog info. I think I would choose the same Zacuto gear if I went HPX500. The Zaucto baseplate looks like it makes life much easier.

Khol,
Well, I am still too early with the hpx500 in order to give it a fair review. But I will put up more reviews/thoughts/footage (yes!) very soon on the blog and will let you know ! :) The hpx 500 does indeed bring more to the table and at the same time, it also represents some problems and compromises.
