HPX500 Beeping Sound from Camera

in Regards to a few posts up on the beeping with a HVX 202 when its rolling.

I work at a university and we have 6 of these camera's. I've done a bit of sound with a few different ones, and ive noticed the beepidy beep beep. Sounds like morse code or something. But its only audible from the headphone jack, and only when running. I thought it was a thing that all of these cameras do, and our sound technician just put it down to the headphone jack not being shielded properly. I dont think it comes through on the recording but honestly i couldnt be sure because i havent been listening for it.

I was doing sound the other day on one of the cameras, and it didnt have that sound. I thought it was a bit odd at the time, but didnt think much about it. I'll see if i can do a check of all the cameras tomorrow, and that should give a really good test bed.

They aint a 500 but its worth a try.

Cheers

We contacted Panasonic about the problem and they told us they had never heard of the problem. We spoke to 2 of the higher level engineer guys for the HPX - I'll see if we can come up with the names of who we spoke to at today's shoot- and both said there was no known issue.
It seems difficult for that to be true.
That being said, the beeping is not laid to the cards in our situation. Its only over the headphones and through the camera thats its being heard, so I'm trying to just live with it - annoying.

If you listen closely, you can almost heard the beeping 'engaging' like something is loading when it begins. Its very odd and I'm not very good at describing what Im hearing.

In any case, it'd be nice for Panasonic to at least admit to its customers that there is an issue.

Is it a persistent faint beep? If so, I encountered that on my HVX200 with a 16GB card in slot 1. I sent it in for service to look at it and see what's happening. But if you're encountering such an issue, I'd say use a 4GB or 8GB card in slot one, or just ignore slot one, until we know more about what causes it.

Barry have you been given any ideas from panasonic since you sent you camera in?

Hey - since I heard this beeping for the first time in my footage (from my HPX500) the other day - has this issue since been solved by Panasonic? I couldn't find any other posts.

One of our HVX202 is still doing it after service, they also forgot to fit a heap of wee screws and misaligned the ND switch, had to fix it myself, very unhappy with Panasonic Repair NZ (This was like a yearago tho), but the cameras have been too busy to send in, if it was ever an issue we just used spectral to remove the tone,

The other HVX202 however was fine post service
