HPX250: HPX250 vs PMW200

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, am struggling with loading the scene files. After formatting my SD card in camera, I open it on my mac and its empty, no 'private' folder at all.
Can somebody help me out?
Thanks

You have to format the SD card and then save a set of files to the card to get the folders set up. Once you do that you will see what you are looking for.

The ONLY reason I can understand going PMW200 is the 1/2" sensor. For the rest I am very happy with my HPX250 especially once I saw my material broadcast on national tv.
Sharp as tack and excellent colors. Sure the often required DOF is difficult to obtain and thats where my wishes remain. But the AVCIntra 10 bit 4.2.2 is a clear winner and holds up to
footage with the PDW 700. I do hope Panasonic comes with some great news, like an AF200 with the M43 sensor, P2, AVCIntra in an ENG form factor and global shutter :-)
The new HPX 600 is also a good step forward with 2/3" and such a low weight.

well so far this is what is expected. micro p2, new 4/3" sensor, more VFR, more DR priced slightly below fs700.
if they disappoint again next year at nab, im out! LOL not really

Any updates in this comparison? Seriously weighing one vs. the other recently... owning an HVX, I already have cards & batteries for the HPX, but like the greater control and sensitivity of 1/2" chips in the EX series and possibly more business from EX-requesting producers. Not sure how actual usability is on either.

In particular thinking about ergonomics, control, battery life, etc. I can find enough visual samples online to declare it near enough a wash.

HPX250 is a better value than the PMW-200, IMO. Lower price, better codec, much longer lens. If you change the NR setting to PAP 1, the 250 will be faster(matching EX1 sensitivity) and quieter than in PAP 2. I've yet to see any motion artifacts with the 3D NR of PAP 1, but definitely see a big sensitivity and SN ratio improvement. We also added the HPX255, which allows use of a paint box and is around the same price of a PMW-200.

Yes, I can get a shallower depth of field with a 1/2" sensor wide open, but if you can get the 250 back further from the foreground subject, you'll be able to get the same look, other than field of view difference. The 250 is a large palmcorder, but well balanced. Battery life is not as good as previous Panasonic palmcorders due to AVC-Intra 100. It's an easy camera to shoot with and excels at green screen and back of the room. As for marketability, that changes from market to market, different client bases. From a rental standpoint, I've had better reliability from my Panasonic palmcorders than EX1, which I've already had to replace once. Panasonic's P2 warranty is the best in the business, certainly better than Sony telling me "it will cost more to fix than it's worth". Frankly, Sony and Canon warranties suck, whatever the price point.

It's kind of a no brainer...the HPX all the way. You already have cards and batteries, so go go go with HPX 250.
