HPX170: Using the SDI output

I'm trying to use the SDI output on my 170 to a Sony SD production monitor, but I can't get an image to display. Not even with the camera set to 480i recording will an image show up. Does this sound right, or is there a setting that I'm missing?

Did you turn SDI on?

Of course I did (double checks)! Well, I do get a sorta response from the monitor- very dark snow. Has anyone actually used an SD monitor with through the SDI output?

Using SD monitor, set the SD SDI output from HPX170 :

Menu : AV IN/OUT SETUP --> CMPNT/SDI SEL --> 480i

I assume that the monitor you are using has an SDI input that you are connecting to?
