HPX170 Software (Firmare)Update Thru SD Card

Trying to do a Software (Firmare) update with SD card.
SD card in Camera can be seen.
SD card in Laptop or other SD reader devices can not be seen nor read inorder to load new firmware on SD card.
Someone has had to do this inorder to use new E series cards.

My guess is that you have SDHC card and your reader isn't compatible with it.

Also, have you formatted the SDHC card in the cam?

What size, and what computer and OS?
 
Seems my built in card readers on my 2 Dell 2405FPW did not like the formatting on the SD cards. I have 2 of these Great Monitors hooked both up to a PC and an older G4 tower. I tried using SD cards formatted for a digital still camera which worked fine with the Dell monitors but once formatted from the HPX170 it did not recognize them at all. I tried different SD cards both formatted from the digital cameras which worked then tried formatted from HPX170 which did not work with the built in card reader. So a couple months ago on a job in NY I picked up an Eee PC [9" mini laptop] for like $250 from B&H and I forgot had a built in SD card reader which worked fine on any formatted SD card. 3 days spent on this so I just wanted to post for all of you so you can save time. Any body have any good links to P2 work flows for final cut? I can not wrap my head around this one.

Yea, funny story. Just picked up 2 E-Series cards. Followed the guide Panasonic put together for firmware upgrading on the HPX-170. Tried it a few times, called up Panasonic. They said that I should use OSX 10.4 or EARLIER to prep the SD card for update. Silly me, keeping my software current...
