What is the cheapest field monitor solution for HPX170? as long as I can get the correct frame and focus.

Thanks.
Fred

if "cheapest" is your goal. there are consumer tvs you can use that will work for $200 or less.

I'll bump this thread along. I need one too, but not the cheapest, just a good run n gun monitor for under 1k please. (HPX170)

Thanks for all the advices, I have this made and model in mind, VariZoom VZ-TFT7U 7" Portable LCD Monitor.
Any idea about this and HPX170?

Thanks.

if i was going to buy that, id just go with the ikan v8000. at least it tries to be HD. i had an ikan. and like any other sub$1000 monitor, it had its good and bad points. but you cant really beat it for frame and focus at the price.

im now using the smallHD dp1 product. its about a grand and from where im sitting, its about the best bang for the buck. you can do better, but it will cost more and be WAY heavier.
they also have a 6" model for about $900

but i also have consumer "sharp" brand lcd tv that works arguably for budget client efforts

I am in Love with the Small HD, DP6, but the SDI one is 1299. ouchy!

Even so, I must have it.

You might also consider "must having" the TVLogic VFM-056WP at that price point. It's currently being offered as a group buy here on dvxuser.

I shared your "musthaviness" until seeing this one.

I have the Varizoom. it is a good product for the price, but for critical focus in HD, not so much. It will work, if you have time to rack your focus for a few seconds and carefully study it. If you were in a hurry, forget it.

There's now a group buy here for the smallHD (10% off through March) as well as the TV Logic.
Keyword for the search -
Dvxusers Only! SmallHD Special Group Pricing
The thread is down the list just a bit.
Look at post #1 for all the relevant info

So, being new to posting - how do i put a link to another post in my post?

I just got my DP6 last week and got a 10% off for being Dvxuser , and what a great product it is.

Rob.

If anyone is still looking for a shameless plug, I got the new 5.6" from TVLogic and it's awesome. Couldn't be happier.
Got it from a non-advertiser so if you want a referral, shoot me a PM.

Again, great monitor, changes the way you shoot with a camera like the HPX.
