The HPX 300 specs indicate that it uses 2:3 pulldown in 1080p and a 2:3:3:2 in 1080pA (advanced mode, whatever that means)
From reading a lot of brochures on high-end HD cameras, I never see this pulldown used, or at least I haven't yet.
Is the use of "pulldown" considered a non-professional feature? I'm still learning what "pulldown" is, but it "sounds" like a manufacturer compromising the potential quality of the image due to a lower-cost sensor or other compromise made in the imaging system of the camera.
When I saw the spec that said the 300 was a 1080p "full raster" camera, for some reason, I thought this meant that pulldown wouldn't be required. I have an HMC 150 that is NOT a full-raster 1080 imager, and it uses pulldown.
I didn't expect the 300 to require any pulldown mechanism -- does this compromise the image quality? Do the Sony EX1/EX3 cameras also employ pulldown?
Thanks !!
Randy
