Hi everyone,

Shortly I'll be buying an hvx 200 camera....I am from europe and I am looking for a good place to buy the hvx 200E model...Found some good offers on www.globalmediapro.com I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this retail company...be it good or bad...

and one more thing...since I am bit tight on money....as additional accessories I planned on buying one extra battery, a bag, a 16gb p2 card....anything else worht mentioning for the starter's kit....I have access to great sound equipment so I won't need to invest in that...

Best regards

The price from GMP is only a bit cheaper than from my local authorised dealer, certainly in the uk.

good backpack is nice. Plenty of good 3rd party batteries and chargers... and I like the P2store unless you are shooting in a studio and can easily use a laptop..

congrats and have fun with it

they are OK to deal with - I'd recommend going through an authorized distributor though (better warranty care)

Hy guys,

Thanks for the reply....will be posting in the forum...as soon as I pack my gear together...best regards to ya all

I recently purchased a HVX200 from Globalmediapro. Process was fine. I had to wait a few weeks for it to be delivered as the tripod i ordered wasnt available but other than that they seem fine. Depending on where you live i Europe you should probably factor into the price the payment of customs duty and/or VAT. Depends on the country i think. I live in Eastern Europe where i couldn't easily find an authorized dealer. I bought the MAC international warranty so that should deal with the warannty issue. Please note the camera i bought did not come with a P2 card, which you will need in order to record in HD or with variable framerates. I also purchased fro them the LIBEC H38 tripod which is well made and can sustain some weight. Good luck.

I think I saw on some forum that their disclimer forbids the consumer from talking about global media pro or that they have done business... sounds kind of fishy. Allthough me myself have been tempted to purchase through them since the prices they have are about half what we have here in Finland.
