The Panasonic ONE YEAR warranty is not transferable, it applies only to
the original owner.

The same is true of the five year extension warranty as well.

Kinda of unusual I think. Usually the warranty runs with the equipment, not the individual.

This doesn't actually surprise me. Car dealers do it too. I.E. Jeep has a lifetime warranty. You could put 2 miles on it and then sell it and the lifetime warranty won't transfer. All of these companies try to find ways to get out of paying for things. They claim it i s a liability since they don't know how the original owner kept up with it, but if that was true then why would they give you a warranty anyway? Oh well, I'll get off my soap box now.
