Hello
After shooting with HVX 200 camera on P2 Card, I copied my P2 contents to Mac via the Card reader of my Power Book G4 . The contents : Clips .MXF and Video .XML
Please advise me how to put my clips on the browser of Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 and how to make setting of FCP in Mac Pro Nehalem 2.26 to be used with P2 contents.
I just have this equipement, (I know only DVCAM and FCP)
Mac Pro Nehalem 2.26 + Ati Radeon 4870
DVCAM PD 150
Final Cut Pro
Panasonic HVX 200
AJA Kona 3
Blackmagic HDLink
Atto 380
Thank you very much

Can anyone help with this? All I want to do is download the clips I shot to a p2 card on an HVX and be able to work with them in FCP. I am borrowing a Duel Adapter card reader from a friend and trying to import onto my macbook pro.

I read Barry's post saying one should go to the panasonic site and download "P2CMS" but there are a hundred things on that site to download, none of which are labeled what Barry said. And I looked at the document from the panasonic site about p2-fcp workflow and it is full of jargon and unrelated things I can't begin to understand. Surely there is a much easier way to just get this footage off the card and into my FCP project? I have searched the forum for almost an hour and this most basic info seems to be missing, sorry for the newbie lack of understanding but I'm baffled?

So I downloaded the P2 CMS software, and it doesn't say how to get the info off the P2 card. It's plugged in via the reader, and it's showing in my tool bar, but the only options of places to import from are my hard drive and my external hard drive? How do I get the clips off the card, onto my drive and ready to bring into FCP? Sorry for the basic question, but not even the manual explains this. Help!

First of all, be sure to write protect the card before reading it (don't ask why).

In P2CMS, read the card, select all the clips, Export them (copy whole clip, not just move - be sure to check the preferences and also set it to verify) to your HDD.

P2CMS is very handy but the interface should be featured on engrish.com.

I would recommend Raylight for mac. Raylight allows FCP to 'read' the .mxf files instead of needing to convert the header information into a quicktime (and duplicating every file).

PM me if you get stuck.
