How To Shoot A NTSC Production Screen

I am trying to capture some footage that was supplied on VHS tape, and shot with 8mm fifty years ago.

I have an SVHS deck hooked to a Sony NTSC SD Production monitor.

It looks like what I described, but with no flicker.

I aim th Panny at it, and of course I capture scan lines and flickering.

I would appreciate any good suggestions on how to eliminate the flickering and scan lines on capture or post if someone can assist.

I don't have an alternative to capture.

Forget the monitor, just plug the deck straight into the HVX and record in VCR mode. It'll be standard-def, granted, but it'll be flicker-free. You can always up-rez in post if necessary.

Thanks Barry.

Uprezzing on this will be an issue.

I'm thinking I just might drop it in a 24P timeline at its current size and add some photographs.
